Performance & Event Management, LLC took ownership of the Erie’s Wild Rib Cook Off & Music Festival in 2004. Since that time Kathi Danielson, President of P&EM and producer, has developed a widely respected community event. Under her direction, this “kick-off” to summer has evolved to become a signature event in downtown Erie attracting over 50,000 visitors annually.
In 2015 the Erie Rib Fest reached a milestone celebrating 25 years of BBQ in the region. While many other communities are loosing their events, Kathi is focused on building on the momentum.
The 2017 enjoyed four days of great weather with a record setting attendance. The 2018 Rib Fest is already in the planning stages. The 28th Annual – Erie’s Wild Rib Cook Off & Music Festival will take place on May 30, 31, June 1 & 2, 2018 in Perry Square Park in downtown, Erie, PA. Recent improvements and upgrades to the West Perry Square Park and the ongoing improvements to the East Perry Square Park lend the perfect backdrop to an already exciting event.
This year’s festival will showcase Erie. We plan to involve more Erie based businesses, include the work of many talented local Artists and Craftsmen, showcase area musicians and invite service groups to share their mission. The Rib KIDZ Fun Zone will include scheduled demonstrations and hands-on activities for both children and their parents.
